The Ferment Great Wine Capital masterclasses compare and contrast South Australia’s regional wine favourites with those from celebrated, great wine regions around the world, including Bordeaux, Napa, Rioja, Verona and Porto. There are nine Great Wine Capitals and Adelaide is hosting the first major consumer tastings at this year’s inaugural Ferment The Festival to celebrate this network. To make things even more exciting we are including general admission in the ticket price for the next 2 days ONLY!
Each of the masterclass themes is designed to be ‘a voyage around your table’, and will explore the styles and varieties offered in a tasting based on discovery. The three themes are as follows:
- Brilliant Blends and Beyond – the new wave of innovation and regional styles from around the wine capitals. A whirl-wind tour of discovery.
- Regional Heroes – the international signature matches of styles and varieties. A chance to master the classic signatures.
- Landmarks – as every city has its great, iconic buildings, so each region has its exemplary style and producer. A seat at the top table!
All masterclasses will be presented by Adelaide-based wine marketer and commentator, Paul Henry, in conjunction with Edinburgh Cellars, and will be brought to you by Primary Industries and Regions South Australia.
Also…….Don’t forget the exclusive two and a half hour VIP Grand Tasting also hosted by Paul Henry. Delve deeper as he introduces 6 celebrated South Australian winemakers presenting their landmark wines. This includes Adelaide wine legends; Kerri Thompson (Clare); Kate Laurie (Adelaide Hills) and Taras Ochota (Basket Ranges/Adelaide Hills), and three others to be revealed. This is an exclusive event and includes Canapés by Chef Paul Baker and Grazing Tables of local fermented delicacies.
