Oh my, we have some unbrielievable news for you!
As many of you know, in 2015, Kris Lloyd organised and put on South Australia’s 10th annual CheeseFest – it attracted up to 30,000 people over the weekend, from die-hard cheese lovers (ooh yep thats me) to people who just wanted to have a beer or a bottle of wine with their mates (oh yeah also me). Kris then went back to the cheese board. She is always looking to improve on her last venture, so she took a year’s hiatus (thank you O-Bahn extension) before putting on FERMENT the FESTIVAL in 2017. Another wildly successful event, this one celebrated all things fermented – from chocolate to charcuterie to kombucha to gin to wine to pickles to kimchi to bread… you get the idea.
This year we are proud to announce that CHEESEFEST IS BACK, and don’t worry, it has a little fermented touch too! As our mates from Old El Paso say: “Por que no los dos”. Now we can all get our gooey cheesey fix, while also being healthy! WIN WIN!*
The event is being held at its original location – Rymill Park, Murlawirrpurka (just off East Terrace) – on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 October. But that is not all…
We have an exciting announcement: A very popular Aussie food personality will be in attendance, running workshops and demo’s (and accepting photographs). Who could it be? We will reveal our ‘Master Du Fromage’ in due course, and will be giving hints along the way but if you can guess who it is, you and 3
s will receive front row VIP seats to see our “Master Du Fromage” at work! Make sure you keep up to date with the CheeseFest and FERMENT Facebook and Instagram pages to get your hints.
Tickets are on sale NEXT WEEK: Saturday 17 June at 9am, and if you buy online then you get a $5 discount on your one day ticket, which makes it $25 for a one day ticket (Saturday or Sunday) or you can go for the whole weekend pass for $40.
We will be announcing our unique stalls soon (like our raclette station (YUM!)), so keep an eye on our socials.
Can’t wait to see you all there!
The CheeseFest + FERMENT Team
*Some fermented foods are healthy I swear! Like sauerkraut… and Gin!
